IT WAS A HELL OF A STREKCON

Words: Anne Passovoy
Music: "A Dying Business" by the Chad Mitchell Trio

It was a helluva StrekCon, I say, one helluva StrekCon.
 The biggest StrekCon ever booked.
We had the whole crew and
 Klingons dressed in blue and
 Gofers everywhere you looked.

It was a helluva StrekCon, I say, one helluva StrekCon.
Oh, how I wish that you were there
To watch good old Ticketron tripley oversell the Con.
It really was a lively affair. Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

It was a helluva StrekCon, I say, one helluva StrekCon.
The New York fuzz turned out for me ~
 And in the commotion
 They all earned a promotion
 While we hollered N! I! C!

We'll buy it, we'll buy it, tell us about the riot!
 Oh yes, there was a riot; my friends, it would make your poor eyes pop;
With Trekkies jammed in wall to wall and a few stacked up on top.
(Stacked on top, they were stacked on top.)
It was the New York Hilton, friends, a really brave hotel.
They booked in Trekkies with Contract Bridge and Numismatists as well.
(Don't forget the hardware convention there as well.)
I'll mention checkpoint Lovecraft, friends, a place of pain and pride,
With screaming fans and flung cream pies ~ but safer than outside.
(Almost anyplace was safer than outside!)

Let me tell you 'bout the Chairman, friends, she really used her head.
She dumped the word on Ralph and Val and vanished with the bread ~
Vanished with the bread. Yeah. Yeah.

It was one helluva StrekCon, I say, one helluva StrekCon.
Oh how I wish that you were there.
One of Fandom's greatest shocks and it grossed a zillion bucks.
It really was a lively affair.
